Many women have a great deal of concerns about the skin of the body looking good. Although there are many potential problems with the skin, fortunately there are just as many potential solutions. Dry skin, cellulite and hair are just a few of the issues women struggle with when it comes to their skin.

Water

Drinking water is one of the simplest things women can do to make their skin look better. This is important because dehydration can give the skin an unhealthy appearance. When an individual is dehydrated, the skin takes on a sickly pallor and may not be as taut as usual. However, when the body is properly hydrated the skin appears supple and full of life.

Dry Skin

Dry skin is one of the major skin dilemmas faced by women. A number of factors can contribute to dry skin including prolonged exposure to water, a dry climate or cold weather. One way to fight dry skin is to exfoliate regularly. A simple homemade exfoliating body wash can be salt crystals added to a body wash. There are also many commercially available products suitable for exfoliating. The process of exfoliating sloughs off dead skins cells giving the skin a healthier appearance. A detox can also make the skin appear more attractive. Much of the food we eat is filled with chemicals which can affect our overall health and appearance. Spending a few days eating only organic and natural ingredients can give the skin a radiant glow.

Cellulite

Cellulite is another skin concern for many women. This is a genetic condition which can affect all women regardless of weight. Often exercise is not enough to reduce the appearance of cellulite. There are many creams available that promise to reduce the appearance of cellulite. These creams may produce minimal results but there are other more effective methods. Fake tans are one way to make cellulite less noticeable. This will not reduce the amount of cellulite but it can make it less noticeable. Hand held body massagers can also be useful for reducing cellulite. These devices stimulate the skin and can diminish cellulite.

Hair Removal

Hair removal can also improve the appearance of the skin. Some of the hair removal methods often used include waxing and laser hair removal. Waxing is a long term hair removal method but it is not permanent. Many women enjoy waxing their legs before a vacation so they do not have to shave while on their trip. One caveat to waxing is it is most effective when the hair has been allowed to grow out for some time before the treatment. This can be very uncomfortable for some women who are used to clean shaven legs. Laser hair removal is a permanent hair removal method. This method can be expensive and works best on fine hair. There also may be several treatments required before the hair is completely removed. Laser hair removal is most frequently used on the face but it can be used on other parts of the body if desired. Laser hair removal is best for small areas such as the lip line as opposed to larger areas such as the legs.
